Langdale Brewery was founded in 2017 by Paul Fry and Steve Mitchell.

Paul Fry a shareholder in the Britannia Inn, Elterwater for 20 years had always wanted to start his own brewery having spent many hours serving cask ales at the Brit, he wanted to actually make some. In December 2016 his scuba diving buddy, Steve Mitchell found a whole brewery for sale in Cambridgeshire so a the kit was bought and collected in new Year 2017.

Paul did a crash course in brewing at Brewlabs and bult the brewery during the summer of 2017. Paul has since gone on to brew the recipes developed by Steve and recently developed the Stout from his own recipe.

Steve Mitchell, founder of Eden Brewery near Penrith. Steve had a history like many brewers completely unrelated to beer was in the Royal Navy prior to becoming a telephone systems engineer before taking on a degree in psychology. Steve and Jason set up Eden Brewery in 2011 in the Brougham Hall near Penrith.

Having cut his teeth on beer design at Brougham Steve joined Paul and they designed the new range of beers for Langdale. Initially a Gold, Blonde and the fabulous Bowfell Bitter.
